About the job Pharmacy Assistant

**Pharmacist Assistant, Brackendowns, Gauteng**

A retail pharmacy based in Brackendowns, Gauteng, is seeking to employ a pharmacy assistant to assist the pharmacist with the day to day running of the pharmacy.

**Requirements**:

- General assistance with the daily pharmacy duties
- Manage prescription requests from clients
- Prepare client medication in accordance with correct labelling and pharmacy protocols
- Ensure a clean and well organized environment
- Attend to the necessary stock taking abilities
- Attend to expired medication and bring this to the attention of the responsible pharmacist
- Attend to point of sale duties
- Write letters and memos, prepare receipts and invoices and file orders

**Qualification and skills**:

- 2 - 3 years experience as a pharmacy assistant
- Certification as a pharmacy assistant basic
- Experience working in a retail environment will be an advantage
- Knowledge of legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice will be an advantage
- Registration with Pharmacy Council

**Working hours (retail hours on shifts)**:

- Monday to Friday: 8am 7pm
- Saturday: 8am 4pm
- Sunday: 9am 2pm
