**Senior Site Electrical Technician**

A Cape Town Based Distribution and Electrical Service and Integration Company is looking for site Installation and Service Technicians.

**Salary**: To be negotiated

**The Technicians responsibilities would be as follows**:

- Installation of Data Transmission Components - Various Field Bus Protocols
- Installation within Distribution Boards and MCCs
- Servicing of Distribution Boards and MCCs
- Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Perform general electrical maintenance.
- Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
- Inspect circuit breakers and other electrical components on site.
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Identify electrical & mechanical faults.
- Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance services.
- New electrical installation (wiring, testing, and commissioning of equipment).
- Fault finding and repair of electrical breakdowns.
- Pre - planned preventative maintenance of electrical equipment and machines.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Preform trade related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
- Knowledge in PLC & SCADA systems would be an advantage.
- Knowledge in Power Factor systems is very much desirable.
- Assemble and install electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Test electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
- Installation of conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Undertaking site supervision.
- Attending to Occasional call-outs for breakdowns or site emergencies as and when needed.
- Assisting in workshop when required to.
- Strictly complying with Company’s Code of Conduct in the execution of duties.
- Understanding of Generators and Change-Over Systems would be advantageous.

**Minimum Experience**:

- N4/N6 Electrical Qualification.
- Previous working experience with contactable references
- Own Vehicle (Bakkie preferable)
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transport.
- Diploma/Certificate as an Electrician
- At least 5 years in the electrical/generator industry.
- Must be a qualified Electrician by trade that underwent Apprenticeship.
- Trade Test successfully completed with a wireman’s licence.
- Ability to use electrical, hand and power tools.
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight (If needed).
- Proficient in English.
