**Position Summary**

Perform work involving maintenance to keep buildings, vehicles/machines, mechanical and plant equipment repaired. Co-ordinate and control the set-up, work in progress and completion of specialized tasks associated with High/medium /low voltage electrical problems.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Carry Legal Appointment
- “Working Foreman” leading electrical and related engineering function
- Testing and inspecting equipment, ensuring safe operation
- Plant (including but not limited to crushing, screening, material handling, manufacturing etc.) engineering, maintenance, and repairs
- Electrical maintenance and repairs of equipment such as but not limited to lifting equipment/cranes, mobile equipment, and vehicles
- Team leadership and management (people, functions, equipment/machines)

**Essential Job Requirements**

**Education**

** ** Electrical trade or equivalent NQF qualification, N6 equivalent minimum
- Wiremans Certificate or equivalent

**Experience**
- 10 - 15 Years working experience after qualifying in Mining/Manufacturing environment
- Of which 8 years middle management experience in Mining/Manufacturing environment
- Automotive electrical/control experience will be advantageous
- “Working Foreman” experience required

**Required Skills**:

- Proven experience as a Wireman’s electrician, preferably in a Mining and Quarry environment
- Demonstrated electrical and/or control circuit fault finding/tracing
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical drawings and blueprints
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, applicable acts/regulations/standards, and guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Maintenance/project planning, management, and execution
- Leadership Skills: Plan, Organise, Direct, Control and Innovate
- Team Leader/People management

**Provide support to staff to develop their skills and capabilities**:
** **Install, maintain and repair electrical and control systems, such as but not limited to power, control, wiring, and lighting
- Read/interpret/draw up technical diagrams and blueprints, simple electrical and control design
- Fault finding/debugging
- Perform general electrical maintenance and project work
- Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing devices
- Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
- Project/maintenance planning, management, and execution
- Legal appointment and requirements, technical management, equipment, and departmental audits/corrective action
- SHEQ management in electrical department
