**MAIN PURPOSE**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Take overall responsibility for the safety of all project team members.
- To maintain a professional relationship between company, client and engineer/designer. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts between project stakeholders.
- Strict adherence to the established company processes and procedures.
- **Scope** - To fully understand the scope as tendered, and manage changes to manpower, equipment and funding during the project lifetime.
- **Time **- To obtain approval of baseline schedule, and manage subsequent schedule changes, in order to protect the financial position of the company.
- **Cost **- To fully understand the costs as tendered, and prepare the execution budget for the project to be executed. Perform a gap analysis to compile a plus/minus list of under and over tendered values. Manage resources and costs accordingly.
- **Quality** - Through the appointment of competent experienced site personnel, ensure that the systems, procedures and materials used result in the delivery of a high quality outcome and a satisfied end user.
- **Risk **- Execute the project according to the contract, continually assess risk, maintain risk register and notify management timeously.
- Contractual & administration
- Ensure timeous, accurate, objective and factual communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensure monthly invoicing recovers as much the project expenses as practical to protect cash-flow.
- **Reporting**:

- Implement reporting as per matrix agreed with Manager Projects.
- Ensure that project documents are routed through document control correctly and records kept in both hard and soft copy as per project requirement.
- Generate a post project debriefing report to management for tender feedback and training purposes.
- Ensure that accurate minutes of project progress meetings are kept.
- Manage the accuracy and content of project data.
- **QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- **Technical degree or diploma, preferably in Electrical Engineering.**:

- **Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or MBA/post-grad in Project Management is required**:

- **Proven experience working in the electrical construction industry, being more than 5 years in a similar role desirable.**:

- Proven experience of managing FIDIC and NEC contracts.
- **Computer literacy in typical project tools - Excellent knowledge of MS Office/Excel and MS Projects/Primavera required.**:

- **Candy estimating software knowledge an advantage.**:

- **SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and presentations.
- Ability to focus on details and technicalities while simultaneously retaining a comprehensive understanding of the project scope.
- Effective leadership skills proving the ability to get a team to work effectively together.
- Must have excellent technical skills.
- High level of organization, financial acumen and the ability to work under pressure.
- A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn.

- **WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Both in office and on site. Position requires out of town travel.
