The incumbent will engage in individual and group psychosocial interventions that endorse

and support the holistic development and well-being of students registered in the College of

Humanities, through the provision and facilitation of individual psychotherapy; career,

academic and psychosocial counselling; crisis support and intervention, and the

development and facilitation of life-skills workshops and webinars. The incumbent must be

able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- Relevant Master’s degree in Counselling, Clinical or Educational Psychology*

(*qualification must have been completed as part of a professional programme in the

discipline of Psychology and not the discipline of Education)
- Current registration as an independent practitioner (Psychologist) with the Health

Professions Council of South Africa
- At least one-year relevant experience as a psychologist, excluding internship year.
- Experience working with students in a higher-education context will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in isiZulu will be an advantage.
