**The Infrastructure and Engineering Department** plays a pivotal role in the maintenance and improvement of the University’s infrastructure. We seek to employ a skilled, knowledgeable and resourceful individual.

**Reporting to the Manager: Maintenance** the appointee’s duties will include, but not be limited to the below and execution of the following tasks:

- To coordinate, monitor quality and service provider compliance with regard to Repairs and Maintenance to the air conditioning infrastructure at UWC
- Management of team, the department, processes, delivery of work, quality and the workshop
- Daily performance monitoring and ensuring delivery of internal and outsourced work including SLAs
- Plan, scope, specify, procure and manage new installations relating to projects
- Liaising with internal infrastructure and engineering staff for new installations and repair work
- Planning, organising and determining the budget requirements for replacements of air conditioning
- Pragma system job card administration
- Artisan duties: including air conditioning, refrigeration, extraction, ventilation servicing, and electronic repairs, replacements and maintenance
- General queries, administration and meetings
- Ad Hoc deputising for the Maintenance Manager
- Ensuring health and safety compliance
- Rotational standby
- Emergency response to unforeseen events across departments
- Provide budget input to Planned Maintenance for HVAC planned replacements

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum requirements**:

- Completed Trade certificate (NQF4 minimum requirement) or equavilent
- A completed 3 year Apprenticeship programme.
- 5 years’ experience, with 2 years proven supervisory experience.
- Basic computer literacy in MS-Word and Excel.
- A valid drivers’ license (with 2 years driving experience )
- Ability to work without supervision.-
