Buyer: Direct Spend

**Job Advert Summary**:
Clover is looking for a Buyer: Direct Spend to manage the inbound process by purchasing direct goods to ensure Clover's operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality & delivery in order to ensure continuity of supply.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- National Diploma related to Procurement/Purchasing
- Business English: Fluent
- Computer literacy (Intermediate)
- Driver's license
- Travel off-site/ overnight stay
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Source according to Material Requirements Planning (ERP plan) - on time and in full deliveries**
- Ensure ERP system integrity relating to Procurement systems by setting up and maintaining MRP 140 system relating to lead times, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ's), pack size, days minimum balance, etc.
- Confirm stock on hand for direct goods when Planning department upload Production plan (Different buckets/SKU's)
- Ensure shop floor control with factories before starting ordering: process and monitor production requirements for direct goods, create and place purchase orders in line with final negotiations with approved suppliers and monitor open order book
- Schedule delivery trucks according to delivery schedule to the factory and coordinate warehouse utilisation with factory
- Contact Suppliers to ensure that purchase and conformation orders are received and that deliveries will be shipped on time and in full to ensure continuous supply, also maintain contact with suppliers while deliveries are on route
- Safeguard cashflow by managing days stock on-hand and expedite and de-expedite orders as required
- Manage and minimise Purchase Price variances (standard cost vs. actual price paid)
- Evaluate and identify opportunities for Procurement savings and benefits
**Improve service levels to internal customers - Marketing, Product Innovation & Technology, Production, Planning, Distribution, Procurement**
- Ensure accurate and timeous feedback and follow-up with regard to deviations communicated in the Daily Order fill rate: Planning Monthly Deviation - Report: Production Ad hoc SMS notifications: Production; Notify relevant departments in a timely manner if a critical delivery is going to be late
- Ensure compliance to Procurement policies & procedures
- Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required by management
- Attend meetings & update management accordingly
**Manage Supplier contracts (SLA's) and improve their performance**
- Assist Management in reviewing supplier performance during quarterly Supplier evaluations
- Submit Supplier forecasts and agree on deadlines, shut down periods and lead times
**Ability to listen and to communicate and to relate to others on a personal or professional level**
- Share relevant information accurately and timeously with the relevant parties, escalate mistakes/ problems to Management immediately
- Contribute to team objectives and team spirit and partner across departments
- Seek new ways of improving work processes and productivity and focus on improving own productivity
- Show and advance technical/professional expertise in the direct Procurement category
- Ensure spend is in-line with budget
