RPO Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Underground Surveyor to join our client, a leading company in the Mining Industry based in Gauteng.
As an Underground Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys and creating accurate measurements of underground mining areas. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of mining operations by providing precise data for planning, design, and monitoring purposes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct surveys of underground mining areas using surveying instruments and equipment.
- Create detailed drawings, maps, and 3D models of surveyed areas.
- Collect and analyze data related to mine tunnels, shafts, stopes, and other underground structures.
- Collaborate with engineers and geologists to ensure accurate and reliable survey data.
- Monitor and report on the stability of underground mining areas.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to process and analyze survey data.
- Maintain accurate records of surveys, measurements, and findings.
- Provide guidance and support to other surveying staff as needed.
**Requirements**:
- COM Elementary Survey Certificate or National Diploma in Mine Surveying
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an underground SurveyorTrackless mining and voids processing experience
- Strong knowledge of underground mining operations and surveying techniques.
- Proficiency in the use of surveying instruments, software, and equipment.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software for processing survey data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging underground conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
