Plant She Specialist

**The Person**:

- Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Safety Management.
- ISO 14000 (Internal Auditor).
- Min 5 years relevant SHE experience.
- SAMTRAC.

**The Job**:
Report to the SHE Company Engineer:
SHE Strategy & Legislation:

- Achieve the annual SHE Operational Plan in accordance to set targets.
- Ensure compliance to SHE legislation and other requirements (Standards, Best Practices, etc.)

Policies and Procedures:

- Develop, update and maintain SHE Policies, Procedures, Protocols, Work Instructions, Codes of Practice, etc.
- Operate according to standard operating procedures and within the parameters of applicable legislation.
- Advise management of changes in legislation.

SHE Management:

- Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of a safety, risk, security, health and environmental management programme.
- Facilitate the management of the health and safety system requirements.
- Develop and implement safe working practices & procedures.
- Continually monitor, measure and trend the plant performances to highlight and reduce risks and concerns.
- Oversee Contractors providing SHE services.
- Advise on the SHE requirements for new projects and developments.

SHE Management System:

- Monitor and maintain the SHE Management System.
- Update and create monthly Group electronic or otherwise SHE reports.

SHE Audits:

- Management Representative for the ISO 14001 and ISO45001 systems.
- Conduct, report and follow up on a pre-use, safety and/or audit inspection including risk control.
- Analyse SHE audit results and make recommendations and drive closure of findings.

Risk Management & Assessments:

- Manage and implement a risk management program that is in-line with business SHE requirements.
- Facilitate action teams and improvement programs to continually improve upon identified risks.
- Address safety, health and environmental requirements and hazards in a technical context.

Emergencies:

- Maintain and update the Emergency Action plan.
- Liaise with emergency authorities relating to site safety.
- Monitor and control emergency equipment.
- Respond to, implement and manage emergencies according to an emergency action plan.
- Assist in properties management.

Incident/Accident Investigations:

- Co-ordinate incident/accident investigations and conduct investigations into workplace incidents.
- Make recommendations and manage the implementation of corrective actions.

Information Management and Direction Focusing:

- Complete the plant SHE matrix and manage SHE information, awareness and understanding.

Security Management:

- Assume overall responsibility for the integrity of the Site Security System.
- Conduct security investigations and liaise with the local authorities.
