**We are seeking a Material Planner for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape**

**Applicants are required to meet the following criteria**:

- Diploma / Degree from a recognized institution in SCM or Industrial Engineering
- 3+ years material planning experience in automotive industry
- Computer skills: SAP MM & MS Office
- Excellent command of English - written and verbal
- Strong analytical / risks assessment / problem solving skills
- Able to work independently and structure own job requirements
- Basic knowledge of AutoCad or equivalent advantageous

**The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to**:

- Ensuring the correct stock levels of components at all times within set parameters
- Taking full responsibility for the continuous planning, follow-up, expediting and controlling of components on order and in transit, until receipt in-plant and assembled into finished products
- Ensuring the continuous supply of JIT/JIS components for 3-shift production in the right quantity, at the right time, to the right place and without incurring excess costs
- Co-ordination of engineering changes for run-out and run-in components or projects
- Control and minimization of (potential) obsolescence
- Control and minimization of (potential) excess freight and related costs
- Support in the implementation of logistics concepts and projects
- Liaison with local and overseas suppliers and service providers
