UX/UI Specialist

**Role Overview/Purpose**:
Reporting to the Head of Digital Vertical, you will be the UX / UI specialist for the broader business. As a UX|UI Designer, you will be required to work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts (BA’s), Commercial Leads and Developers to brainstorm the best solutions to challenging problems. You would then visualize those solutions from the wireframes stage through to rapid building of prototypes for user testing and finally detailed designs ready for the Development team.

Our client is looking for an innovative, self-motivated, independent, detailed and pragmatic go-getter with the ability to coordinate projects between various teams of people contributing to the ongoing development of existing as well as new products and systems. Excellent communication skills are a must, both verbally and written. Previous experience in a development team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- UX Design_
- Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences, and are optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
- Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate
- Collaborate with Product Designers throughout design process
- Knowledge of feature-for-feature competitive analysis and world class standards for the Super App industry UI Design
- Develop UI mockups and prototypes for stakeholder reviews
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemap
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user/team feedback
- Adhere to ayoba Design System and style standards on fonts, colours and images
- UI Design_

- Work closely with the UX Research team to identify research questions
- Helping to plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis
- Help with user stories, personas, and storyboard
- Interpret data and qualitative feedback

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/Diploma in relevant field
- Role-related certifications advantageous

**Experience (required)**:

- 4+ years’ experience of UX|UI design experience, with at least some of this working in a B2C or C2C business
- Expertise in standard UX|UI software such as Figma, Miro, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite

**Experience (Advantageous)**:

- Communicates powerfully and prolifically, mapping design decisions to desired outcomes
- Experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions
- Experience using UX design software (In-Design, Mira, XD, Sketch, Figma, Axure, etc.)
- Understands responsive design and the nuances of designing for different platforms
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience utilizing or creating design systems that align to web and UX best practices

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening and organizational skills
- Motivated and proactive
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills
- Excellent judgment (a wide variety of tasks will be based on good judgment and experience)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R80,000.00 per year
