- **Key Purpose**
- The role is technical in nature and requires an individual that is strong in both systems and business analysis.**Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to**
- Understand and analyse business requirements with the objective of providing a solution to the requirement in conjunction with the systems architect and development team where required.
- Liaise with business to understand concepts and offer ideas and solutions to problems.
- Produce specifications which are detailed enough for developers to develop off with little or no comeback for understanding; however, be able to communicate effectively with developers to explain concepts and requirements accurately and clearly
- Produce system process flows which accurate depict the required solution.
- Create acceptance criteria for requirements which adequately test the lower level system detail as well as end to end processes, also with the ability to identify negative scenarios and potential breakpoints.
- Testing of functionality in detail and covering scenarios to ensure functionality is working as per requirement.
- Working with queries on databases, interfaces including files, webservices and event buses to fulfil requirements and understand and test solutions.
- Ability to work with data, draw queries from databases and interrogate data and results
- Take ownership of projects end to end including deployments across non production and production environments and post implementation steps and monitoring to ensure complete success for the project
- Provide support and/or standby as required of the system and its functionality and features.
- Attendance at daily stand-ups with the requirement of actively contributing to the team and providing accurate and meaningful feedback on curate activities.
- Provide require feedback into management and project management on progress and issues faced.
- Formulates and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Continuously improves and optimises processes for learning within the team including but not limited to knowledge sharing, specification design and other business analysis processes.
- Thinks logically and independently with the ability to complete own deliverables.
- Follows a structured process to gather, understand and document business requirements.

**Technical Skills and Knowledge**
- MS Excel at an intermediate level.
- Strong logical reasoning skills (this will be tested through a Business Analysis assignment).
- Thorough knowledge of Discovery’s products, systems, and processes.
- Understanding of basic financial concepts relating to topics such as investments, insurance, debt management, property investments, retirement savings preferred.

**Special Requirements**
- This role requires that the analyst wants to and is able to understand both the business rules and the detailed workings of the system. There needs to be a desire to learn until in depth understanding is obtained.

**Education and Experience (Preferred/Optional)**
- Bachelor’s degree
- Diploma or equivalent in business or systems analysis.
- At least 3 years’ experience in systems and or business analysis.
- Evidence of delivered solutions in the marketplace preferred.
