The Role:
**Purpose of the Position**:

- To formulate the strategy for Product business unit, create an effective workforce and business process delivery channel that will provide a high quality level of service exceeding client expectations so as to contribute to the organisations marketing and sales effort in ensuring continuous growth and sustainable profits. Set the overarching product and pricing strategy. Support the development of specific product and pricing strategies and pricing optimisation.

Skills and Experience:
**Qualifications Essential**:

- Post Grad Qualification or Equivalent NQF Level 8 Qualifications in Business Management/Marketing or similar

**Qualification Preferred**:

- MBA advantageous

**Experience**
- A minimum of 10 yearsâ?? experience in new product development and strategic pricing analysis,
- A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience
- Substantial experience driving innovative new products and building pricing models

Key Accountabilities:
**Strategy Development Execution**
- Develop overarching product and pricing strategy that aligns with overall customer strategy.
- Establish, embed and manage the product and pricing strategy development process.
- Develop a product innovative strategy that delivers disruptive consumer-centric innovation, renovation and impact, both within and across product categories
- Set the overarching product development strategy. Support the development of specific product strategies.
- Develop corresponding pricing parameters and ensure that these are consistently tracked and monitored.
- Generate innovative new product to sell into the customer base, by segment.
- Devise new Revenue Streams from i.e. financial services products
- Work with industry thought leaders (local International) to scenario plan product conceptualisation, creating and adoption

**Benchmarking/Governance**
- Set and manage a governance plan to ensure consistency and adherence to product development and pricing methodology and parameters, as well as the timely provision of key inputs from participating functions
- Conduct competitor product and pricing intelligence analysis to develop a robust understanding of our position in the market and an awareness of our competitiveness

**Pricing Stakeholder Management**
- Manage the overall NPD pipeline, making trade-offs between categories and portfolios as required to ensure resource allocation aligns with overall customer strategy
- Work with all Customer functions to develop and recommend products with specific pricing strategies that balance short-term performance with long term goals
- Work with customer marketing, brand and sales teams to develop annual promotion plan and provide promotion guidelines and parameters to optimize annual discount budgets
- Develop corresponding pricing parameters and ensure that these are consistently tracked and monitored.
- Provide regular and timely product and pricing updates, that include performance against defined KPIs, to the CCO with corresponding pricing insights and recommendations
- Establish a pricing elasticity methodology and run elasticity and customer profitability analysis to ensure informed pricing decision making
