- The Engineering Assistant Discipline Specific provides a pool of support of basic discipline specific engineering, technical skills and is required to support all the Engineering Foreman/Artisan to whom the individual is allocated to perform low complexity high volume work.

**Job Description**:

- Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Good house keeping
- Material & workshop machinery & equipment control
- Use of Engineering tools
- Loading, dispatching material & equipment to work sites
- Providing assistance to all trades (Artisans) with activities within and without the team.
- Ensuring tool availability
- Following work instructions
- Ensuring proper understanding of the required actions
- Ensuring that members work together as a team while completing tasks
- Ensuring that tasks are completed to required quality standards
- Ensuring that material is not unnecessarily wasted
- Ensuring that all required tools, material and spares are available to perform tasks
- Communicating to artisans any unexpected problems
- Effective two-way communication with team members
- Helping operational employees to maintain equipment in area of responsibility
- Accompanying artisan when inspecting and completing tasks
- Promoting safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
- Reporting any safety related issues to the artisan or full-time safety rep

**This role is in the Technical -Engineering Operations Department at a band B2 level role reporting to the Engineering Forman/Artisan.**
- Qualifications
- Grade 12- Maths and Science/ or N3 with Mathematics and Science
- Communication in English
- Driver’s license
