**OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE**:
Opportunity for an analyst with a legal background to join the Durbanville-based investment team of One of our clients, a leading and fast-growing private equity firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for a person with a passion for corporate and commercial law, good report writing skills, a hunger to learn and an independent thinker to join this specialist private equity team.

**DUTIES**
- Drafting (basic) and / or amendment of legal agreements (technical);
- Reviewing draft agreements and summarising terms, identify risks and suggesting how these risks can be addressed
- Assisting with implementation of transactions
- Drafting of compliance and other regulatory documentation
- Assisting on the due diligence of investment opportunities - especially the legal aspects
- Liaise with all current and potential investors, maintain and further all relationships with potential investors
- Private equity deal research and analyses (quantitative and qualitative);
- Industry research
- Creating and maintaining presentations, investment proposal, private placement memorandums and all other presentations and updates
- Compiling investee company information into the required analysis formats
- Corporate networking and client building
- Contributing to investment decisions made by the investment team
- General support to the investment team and senior investment executive
- Such other duties as may be requested from time to time

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum 0-2 years post article experience, ideally at one of the big 5 law firms or investment bank
- Experience in M&A an absolute requirement

**SKILLS**:

- Good understanding of both financial aspects and corporate & commercial law as well as how these aspects integrate for the purpose of a transaction.
- Methodical while being able to multi-task.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with complexity.
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Well informed in current affairs relating to corporate and commercial law, accounting, tax laws and the general business environment.
- Proficient in MS Office - Word and PowerPoint at expert level

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum BCom LLB or BAcc LLB or similar.

**REPORTING LINE**:

- Direct reporting to senior members of the team and Chief Investment Officer and working closely with the investment team.
