**Job Advert Summary**:
Our client, a well-known private healthcare group, is urgently looking for an ambitious, talented, goal-driven and self-motivated **Professional/Registered Nurse** to fulfil the role of **Theatre Unit Manage**r. This is a **permanent opportunity** **at a private Day Hospital in **Century City** in **Cape Town** in the Western Cape.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse
- A qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science serves as an advantage
- Relevant Management experience of at least 3 years
- At least 5 years experience in an operating theatre
- Conflict handling and performance management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The purpose of the position is to coordinate all the functions and activities related to the provision of quality patient care in a hospital environment, excellent service to doctors, visitors, and support services in a cost-effective manner, as well as motivating, supporting and optimising staff performance and education to achieve optimum functioning of the unit.

**CRITICAL OUTPUTS**
- Conform with doctors' requirements/expectations, remaining within the scope of practice as well as being patients' advocate
- Ensure the management of all related nursing services and activities in the unit, according to the client's objectives, policies and procedures
- Maintain effective discipline in accordance with the client's Code of Conduct and disciplinary codes
- Ensure safe and correct use of all equipment
- Monthly monitoring of cost centre expenditure against budget
- Maintain effective relationships with specialists, external bodies and associations
