**Reporting to** Head: Academic

The IIE’s **Vega School Pretoria campus** is seeking a part time Lecturer (Independent Contractor) for the first semester of the 2023 academic year.

**Job Purpose**:
Lecturer and academic delivery to ensure students are guided and supported in their learning to achieve module outcomes.

**Minimum Qualification Requirements**:

- Ideal: Honours (HEQSF 8) in Interior Design/ Architecture/ Graphic Design/ Visual Communication Design/ Information Design.
- Alternatively: A suitable BA Honours level Degree with a strong visual or design component. This includes the HEQSF 8 four-year degrees in Fine Arts.
- Portfolio with evidence of creative process, drawing from observation, drawing from imagination, rendering, plans, elevations, perspective, scale.

**Minimum Work Experience Requirements**:

- Experience in Interior Design/ Architecture/ Product Design/ Graphic Design/ Visual Communication Design/ Information Design fields.
- Lecturing experience in one of the above-mentioned fields.

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Preparation and lecturing as per the Module Guide
- Teaching curriculum outcomes as per contract hours and stipulated per pre agreed timetable
- Briefing students for assignments and providing feedback in a timeous manner
- Presenting class marks and feedback to the Module Discipline Leader and discuss appropriate interventions for improved student success
- Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within The IIE’ Vega School environment.

**Working Conditions**:

- Please note that this is an Independent Contractor position
- Positions are **part-time**, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:30
