**Main purpose of the job**:

- Responsible for cashbook function including bank reconciliations, card recons & following up and clearing of reconciling items

**Location**:

- **Parktown, Johannesburg**

**Key performance areas**:

- Perform Cashbook Functions: _
- Adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines
- Effective processing of all current local, foreign, and investments bank accounts, as well as all cards, call accounts, and any other cash-related transactions to ensure accurate and timeous capturing and reconciliations and to meet objectives and deadlines
- Effective daily, weekly month-end processing timeously and accurately, including revaluation of foreign banks
- Ensure all correct documentation and information is obtained to meet objectives and deadlines
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Aid Grants teams in terms of recons and reports
- Ensure effective intercompany transaction identification and processing. (i.e., Vodacom Bank entries/VAT transfers)
- Respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
- Compilation and submission of documents for audit
- Maintain a manual and electronic filing and storage system as required per WHC policies and procedures
- Keeps the Supervisor informed of issues and activities related to accounting systems and staff

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **Matric**:

- **Finance-related Diploma/Degree preferable**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **Minimum 1-2 years of cashbook clerk experience with general administration experience**

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills
- Sound financial and business acumen
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- The environment may at times be busy and need excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) will be required
