**Job Advert Summary**:
**PURPOSE**:

- Support CSO with strategy development and integration for coal, energy and new minerals: Drive and lead the strategy development and integration efforts in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer, securing Exxaro's future in a low carbon intensity economy. Champion the organization to stretch and adapt the strategy, leveraging future market analysis, stakeholder expectations, market indicators, operating model analysis, enterprise risk management, business performance, competitor analysis, and post-merger integration.
- Strategy framework development for Exxaro group strategy development and integration: Take ownership of developing and continuously improving the Exxaro-wide framework and processes for strategy development and execution with functional leaders.
- Translating strategy into results for coal, energy, and new minerals: Lead strategy translation into results by aligning strategic priorities, strategic plans, and annual business plans with the SG & I strategy, ensuring effective implementation, and providing support for execution and monitoring. Oversee the development of leading and lagging indicators to monitor and track progress towards strategy goals, driving accountability and ensuring successful strategy execution with functional leaders.
- Collaborate with business to formulate and execute strategic projects: Collaborate with coal, energy and new minerals to identify and address risks associated with changes in the operating environment that may impact strategy delivery.
- Drive scenario planning process: Lead the systematic and process-driven exploration of various future scenarios to drive value across the business, working collaboratively with stakeholders to adapt the portfolio strategy in response to market conditions, government policies, and environmental considerations.
- Portfolio optimisation and integration: Continuously review the performance of the portfolio working with functional leaders, benchmarking our strategy performance against industry peers, and take charge of formulating and execution of action plans in collaboration with business leaders to drive strategy initiatives and operating model.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- B Eng (Relevant) ( Essential/Minimum or )
- BSc Engineering (Relevant) ( Essential/Minimum or )
- BCom (Relevant) ( Essential/Minimum )
- Master of Business Administration ( Recommended/Desirable )
- Advanced Management Programme ( Recommended/Desirable )

**EXPERIENCE**:
10-12 years A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, business development, or related fields. A proven track record in developing, integrating, and implementing successful strategy. A natural learner who brings in new ideas and insights to develop the organization. Comfortable with ambiguity and adapts quickly to thrive in unfamiliar environments. An individual with a holistic understanding of the strategies over multiple time horizons. Understands marketplace trends, anticipates risks, and stays updated on current business, economic, industry, and political factors. Strong leadership and networking skills. Strong business and financial acumen. Top characteristics required: disruptor, learner, adaptor, storyteller, translator, navigator, integrator and an influencer. (Essential/Minimum) Management
