Facilities Administrator

**Technical skills**: Facilities administrators need technical skills to ensure the proper functioning of the building’s systems. They need to understand how to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics and blueprints to understand how to repair or replace equipment.

**Leadership**: Facilities administrators are responsible for overseeing the maintenance of a company’s physical assets. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you may be supervising other employees who report to you. As a facilities administrator, you may be responsible for delegating tasks, assigning projects and evaluating employee performance.

**Communication**: Facilities administrators communicate with a variety of people, including other administrators, engineers, contractors and employees. They use verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas, answer questions and provide instructions. They also use communication skills to resolve conflicts and negotiate agreements.

It can also help you manage multiple projects, such as overseeing the construction of a new building and ensuring the building’s systems are functioning properly.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all buildings and sites
- Manage outside vendors and service providers, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Coordinate with the IT department to ensure that all equipment and systems are properly installed and maintained
- Prepare and manage the annual budget for all facility-related expenses
- Negotiate leases and contracts for office space, equipment, and services
- Monthly invoicing and accurately recording of finances
- Plan and execute special events and projects as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
