Electrician

**The roles, responsibilities and duties of this position will include but not be limited to**:

- Repairs and preventative maintenance on fast moving production equipment.
- Point to point checks on control and power systems.
- Read and correctly interpret electrical diagrams.
- Assist the department manager with ad-hoc duties.
- Perform electrical maintenance.
- Fault finding and root cause analysis plus action
- Provide a service to production to minimize delay times and solve reoccurring delay
- Ensure compliance from the electrical side in line with IMS & Occupational Health & Safety
- Responsible for troubleshooting and handling of all electrical equipment in the workshop to reduce downtime and ensure normal operation of electrical equipment
- Daily Maintenance, overhaul, and inspection of all electrical equipment in workshop
- Inspection of all kinds of electrical equipment and high and low voltage lines on a regular basis.
- Compiling a maintenance plan with detail maintenance records for overhauling equipment.
- Perform daily management tasks such as work logs, fault logs, equipment history records, maintenance records, etc. and complete work tasks assigned by the maintenance department on time.
- Regularly backup and manage important data, procedures, and parameters of equipment (PC, Drives, Robotics, Inverter, PLC etc)
- Maintenance on production equipment and installation of electrical equipment
- Capital Projects completed and relevant installations actioned
- Operate within applicable Health & Safety requirements
- Effective liaison with Production Departments
- Health & Safety inspections conducted, and forms completed Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Fault finding and repairs experience on Plastic film extruders, bag makers, flexo printers, plastic recycling machines, compressors, high output diesel generators, cooling towers, pumps, ac/dc motors and corona treaters.
- Programming and repair of drives/plc. Build panels, maintain and repair all electrical tools and plant equipment.

**The requirements and skills required for this position are.**
- Matric /Grade 12 with a minimum N4 in Electrical Engineering
- Successful achievement of trade test
- Minimum 3 years in a similar position.
- Must have experience working on switchgears, generators, and treaters if possible.
- Experience working in a High-speed production environment.
- Live within +-20km radius of Mega Park and have reliable own transport.
- Must be of sober habits and reliable, must be able to do call outs, standby and shift work when needed.
- Must be a team player and work well with others. Must have clear communication skills and be able to follow and understand work instructions, technical drawing, and electrical diagrams.

**Salary**: R20,000.00 - R30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bellville South, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Certificate (preferred)
