Flexographic Machine Minder

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Machine Minder**
**OVERVIEW**
The Machine Minder is responsible for printing quality labels for each Work Ticket.
**WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING HOURS**
Under normal circumstances you work a 9.5-hour shift. However, please note that customer demand / orders dictate whether you should work shorter / longer hours.
**TASKS: Printer**
The following tasks are typical to your position, but it will be expected from you to perform other functions from time-to-time as the need arise.

3.1 Check Production Board/Plan

3.2 Check Work Ticket (WT)

3.3 Check plates and tooling

3.4 Mount die and perform die test

3.5 Set up colours and anilox

3.6 Test Registration

3.7 Obtain Sign-off: Test colours/print samples

3.8 Progressive QC Checking

3.9 Flagging Waste and Defects

3.10 Dismounting Job

**5. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE**

Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance is done and updated according to maintenance checklists - record and sign checklists.

**6. EDUCATION**

6.1 Grade 12; and

6.2 Qualified Flexographic Printer; or

6.3 On-the-job training as Flexographic Printer.

**7. SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE**
- Able to read and understand Job Cards, proofs, spec sheets
- Colour mixing;
- Know difference between substrates;
- Selecting the correct anilox;
- Progressive quality checks;
- Preventative maintenance;
- Basic Supervisory skills;
- Mounting of plates;
- Storage of anilox;
- Malachite test;
- Updating information on Quick Easy;
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities;
- Work well under pressure and strict deadlines;
- Work methodically;
- Attention to detail;
- Communication skills

**Job Type**: Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: From R85.00 per hour
