AMANDLA is currently rolling out exciting infrastructure projects nationwide. The Set-Up & Construction Department is responsible for land acquisition, development planning, infrastructure design development, and construction execution.

**JOB SCOPE**

As the Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring the infrastructure design development process, construction execution and; managing the necessary cost controls on assigned projects.

**Core duties and responsibilities include**:

- Coordinating the procurement of professional consultants
- Leading the professional team in the design development
- Monitoring timeous technical coordination of the design by the professional team
- Monitoring the timeous submission by the professional team of all plans to obtain the necessary local authority approvals.
- Managing and preparing project cost estimates and budgets
- Overseeing approval of all project stages
- Managing the local labour recruitment process and reporting thereof
- Coordinating the tender process
- Managing all project contract documentation
- Monitoring the construction execution performance against the project programme
- Conducting site inspections & attending site monthly progress minutes
- Overseeing the project compliance in accordance with Occupation, Health, and Safety requirements
- Reviewing monthly payment certificates for approval
- Preparing monthly project progress reports and cost reports for executive management & funders
- Controlling scope and cost variations
- Reviewing and adjudicating the circumstances on contractual claims made by the contractors.
- Managing and monitoring the issuing of Practical Completion Lists and Certificate of Practical Completion
- Overseeing the preparation of the final accounts
- Overseeing Final Completion Defects list and Certificate of Final Completion
- Managing and expediting the procurement of all operating and maintenance manuals as well as warranties and guarantees.

**CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES**

**Education/Equivalent**:
Degree/B.Tech in Building Sciences, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying

**Experience/Skills**

3 years’ experience in construction project management

Experience in managing large value projects ü Excellent organization and time management skills

Compulsory proficiency in MS Projects and MS Office

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comprehensive knowledge on construction contracts and laws

Knowledge of latest construction technology trends and innovation ü Ability to negotiate and resolve disputes

Good financial and numeracy management skills

Risk management skills

Ability to engage with community stakeholders
