**Job Purpose**:
The Curriculum Specialist supports the Head of Education with the overall planning, designing, and development of course content and assessments for grade 10 to grade 12, as well as for Educators.

**Duties**:

- Assist the Head of Education to implement the STEM curriculum strategy and policies.
- Ensure that the strategy document and policies are aligned with the Department of Basic Education goals and objectives (e.g., NDP 2030 for Maths and Science).
- Assist the Head of Education to secure and sustain effective learning and teaching practices by monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching, the environment, and the standards of learner achievement.
- Ensure that STEM curriculum planning, and delivery are aligned with assessment practices and content.
- Conduct continual research on best practices, and innovative ways of improving transfer of learning.
- Conduct STEM related Educator training, Coaching and Mentoring.
- Work collaboratively with other Curriculum Advisors in the Districts to develop tools like curriculum Maps and content checklist to help Educators.
- Provide expert advice about the content, processes and strategies that will shape learning for Educators and Centre staff.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Advanced Diploma in Education, specifically in Maths, Science and Technology (NQF Level 6).
- Good understanding of the Maths and Science (STEM) Operations within the Non-Profit sector as well as the Department of Basic Education.

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 6 years (required)
