A role has become available for a Buyer in our Production and Supply Chain department for Procurement.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Implement and manage purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate suppliers considering the price, quality, availability, and other relevant criteria
- Prepare, compile and issue RFQ
- Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and payment terms and make recommendations to end users.
- Review and analyse purchase requisitions to ensure appropriate sourcing of non-stock items.
- Determine maintain-in-system min/max levels for SKU.
- Monitor SKU inventory levels and initiate orders as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels
- Place orders for goods and services, track delivery dates, and update system information.
- Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement
- Manage and maintain purchasing databases and records
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and market condition
- Interviewing and visiting supplier’s facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing
- Preparing and processing purchase orders
- Ensure suppliers are issued with approved Company Quality Specifications.
- Ensure all non-stock and stock items comply with the company quality specifications and approve for final acceptance
- Reporting on the status of all open purchase orders
- Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
- Building and maintaining positive, long-term relationships with internal and external customers.
- Act responsibly, professionally, and ethically at all times fostering goodwill and a positive image for the Department and Company.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Supply Chain Purchasing Diploma / BA / BCom Degree
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
- Experience in ERP - SAGEX3 systems preferable
- Negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented and analytical
- Decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
