Optical Assistant

A optometry practice in Pretoria is seeking to recruit a full time and preferably optician experienced medical receptionist / optical assistant. This role entails clinical, administrative and customer service duties.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Diary management
- Patient welcoming and liaison
- Sales representative liaison
- Switchboard duties
- Medical aid liaison
- Pricing structuring
- Knowledge of, selling of, dispensing of, invoicing and accounting of all stock items including optical lenses, contact lenses, frames and accessories
- Account management e.g. invoicing and debt collection
- Personal assistant duties
- Administrative duties
- Medical aid liaison and claim submission
- Preparing patients for vision examinations
- Assisting with vision examinations
- Assisting customers with frame measuring and frame selection

**Skills required**:

- Bilingual (essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication ability
- Patient orientated and patient / customer care ability
- Excellent listening skills
- Leadership ability and excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with delicate tools and materials
- 3-5 year experience in a similar role
- Healthbridge experience (preferred)

**Working hours**:

- Monday to Friday 08h00 - 17h00 with overtime as and when required
- Two Saturday’s per month 08h00 - 13h00

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R12,000.00 - R13,000.00 per month
