Mechanic (Expat)

**Responsibilities**:

- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various farm equipment, including wheat and maize planters, sprayers, spreaders, excavators, dozers, graders, tippers, loaders, landprep tractors and implements, utility tractors, and other necessary farm fabrication requirements.
- Irrigation Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on center pivot irrigation systems, including gearboxes, bearings, electrical components, as well as irrigation pumps and motors.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues, identifying the root cause and implementing appropriate solutions to minimize downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all farm equipment, ensuring regular servicing, lubrication, and replacement of parts to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize breakdowns.
- Parts and Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for repairs and maintenance, ensuring their availability when needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Comply with all relevant laws and regulations related to equipment maintenance and operation.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage, providing regular reports to the farm management.

**Key Skills**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferably in an agricultural or heavy machinery environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of farm equipment, including wheat and maize planters, sprayers, spreaders, excavators, dozers, graders, tippers, loaders, landprep tractors and implements, utility tractors, and farm fabrication requirements.
- Experience in maintaining and repairing center pivot irrigation systems, gearboxes, bearings, electrical components, irrigation pumps, and motors.
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and inventory management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant technical qualification in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
