**Main purpose of the job**:

- To provide support for clinical trials or clinical programs

**Location**:

- **Parktown, Johannesburg**

**Key performance areas**:

- Good Clinical Practice_
- File documents as per GCP, Protocol, and/or WITSDIH requirements
- Ensure all participants’ documents are completed correctly
- Recruitment and consenting_
- Inform participants about the study
- Set up sample collection appointments
- Collect Specimen as per study protocols (including informed consent process)
- Screen potential participants and obtain informed consent according to SOPs
- Administer study questionnaires and or interviews
- Ensure that all study projects are set up according to Good Clinical Practise (GCP)
- Manage participant reimbursements
- Collect participant data from medical notes and from the participants and complete CRFs (paper and electronic)
- Record and maintain study documentation, including screening, enrolment, and withdrawal logs on a daily basis
- Maintain full clinical records/database for all participants
- Maintain an inventory register of all required supplies (e.g., testing or collection kits)
- Administration and project coordination_
- Perform sample-related activities such as labeling and storage
- Compile relevant reports and feedback on all activities
- Quality control CRFs and other study documents
- Attend to data queries and resolve them accordingly e.g., DCF
- Ensure project and protocol amendments are implemented as required
- Co-ordinate study on behalf of WITSDIH once it has commenced (e.g., shipping of samples, meetings with relevant staff, training staff, attendance to site initiation visit meetings, support at trial sites)
- Take primary responsibility for the response to project audit findings related to the CT department specific to the project
- Prepare project plans, project status, and other administrative reports and submit them to sponsors as required by the contract with them, and other internal stakeholders
- Report timeously on project progress
- Communicate any significant changes in resourcing, the scope of work, and timelines to all stakeholders including team members

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **Diploma in General Nursing**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in clinical trials**

**Professional Body Registration**:

- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) courses will be advantageous
- Good filing skills
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be customer/participant orientated
- Good communication skill
- Basic computer skills. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
