Refractory Foreman

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

- Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4)
- A recognised relevant Trade Qualification (Section 13/26D) OR proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2 / (Recognised Trade Theory) Qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Artisan.
- Knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in and around a workplace.
- Knowledge of budget control.
- Refractory maintenance.

- Must be able to perform basic first aid.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- Ensure production targets are met according to plan.
- Effectively manage and develop staff responsible for engineering activities.
- Efficiently manage costs as per business plan.
- Manage HSE standards according to or better than target.
- Maintain proper stock control and ensure availability of critical spares.
- Provide maintenance crew with expertise assistance in solving technical problems.
- Supervise the workshop and maintenance activities.
- Ensure monthly reviews and reports are readily available.
- Effectively manage contractors working in your area of responsibility.
- Testing of refractory material on a monthly basis.
- Training and development of subordinates.
