Agronomist

Our client based in Cape Town is looking for an Agronomist to join their team in Cape Town, you will also be required to travel to various clients from time to time. In the agronomist role, you will collaborate with farmers and crop researchers to conduct a detailed analysis of crop data. You will be expected to maintain a deep understanding of soil productivity principles and keep tabs on the latest trends and technologies in agronomy. Success in this role will be determined by providing valuable insights that lead to solutions that drive higher crop yields.

**Agronomist Job Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assesses crop production of the farm.
- Evaluates and improves seed quality.
- Carries out laboratory tests of soil, seed, and crop samples.
- Performs quality control for seed caliber and soil standards.
- Keeps records of research, testing, and results.
- Prepares analysis and data presentation.

**Agronomist Job Requirements**
- Minimum 2-5 years of agronomy work experience
- In-depth knowledge of soil and crop principles
- Proficient in MS Office
- Outstanding research and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture; master’s degree in agriculture (specializing in soil science) a plus
- Valid driver’s and car
