**Job Description
- You will also be responsible for**:

- Participate in audits and inspections as required (level of involvement and responsibility will vary): o Level 1 audits and inspections - lead and coordinate o Level 2 or 3 cross audit initiatives - participate and support as required".
- Implement Auditing/Inspection training program to build site capabilities following group guidelines. Monitor competency of trained personnel.
- Facilitate the use of SHE digital platform (ISO Matrix) to collect and analyse assurance findings.
- Monitor Assurance KPIs for the assigned site through establishment of an effective operating rhythm with key stakeholders.
- Deliver self-assessments to Assurance programs to guarantee program consistency and adherence to group instructions.
- Provide assurance on corrective/preventive actions, report on ‘repeated’ findings to site leadership team including overdue findings.
- Obtain and Maintain external SHE certification as required by business and customers.
- Support the implementation of leading safety and sustainable development practice across mining operations and projects in Anglo American.
- Provide input on effective corrective actions needed to mitigate issues identified in audits.
- Coach line on best ways to do audits and identify ways to improve efficacy/reduce need for audits.
- Support line verification activities resulting from audits.
- Drive the process to obtain and retain appropriate external certificates.
- Introduce new technology to auditing/assurance approach, and ways to be more efficient and effective.
- Provide input to monitoring approach to ensure as efficient as possible

**This role in the Safety Department at a Band 6 and reports to the SHE Manager.**

**Qualifications
- You must have**:

- Educated to a graduate level (Bachelors / Honors degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (such as sciences, engineering or other related careers).

**Your experience should include**:

- Essential requirement: educated to a graduate level (Bachelors / Honors degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (such as sciences, engineering or other related careers).
- Experience:

- Detailed understanding of the Platinum value chain and Safety, Health and Environment trends and risks.
- Demonstrated experience in a safety position within a technical environment, including the coordination of knowledge sharing with broader stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working in a safety investigation position at a project, operation or BU level in processing or Oil and Gas Industry.
- Track record of interfacing with and influencing colleagues at all levels and coordinating disciplines relevant to safety.
- An understanding of the operational aspects associated with mining operations.

Additional Information
- If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Certification.
