Applications are invited for a vacancy exists for a dynamic and driven IT Technician to join a team based at the KZN offices. This role reports directly to the Group IT Infrastructure Manager, in the Shared Services Business Unit.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- IT degree or IT Certificates
- IT diploma or A+ or N+ or similar qualification
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure tools and services (Networks, Servers, Printing, Security, etc)
- Experience in network admin and using network monitoring tools for performance tuning, trouble shooting and capacity planning
- 5 years of related working experience,
- Public cloud: Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Own transport/car is a requirement

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Gathers existing process documentation and reviews with process SMEs, updates the process documentation if require
- Deliver stable, secure and agile IT infrastructure operation services which include but not limited to storage, Windows OSes, network, Information Security, VPN, IT monitoring and automation
- Manage IT infrastructure including: the on-premise data center and server maintenance, network, storage and backup, and end-user devices (PC, laptops, tablets, phones, printers, conferencing infrastructure, telephony)
- Contribute to the roadmap for the development of the IT infrastructure that is appropriate for the current needs and scalable for the future needs of the business
- Follow the IT incident management process, proactively detect IT issues, identify root cause and restore IT services based on the SLA
- Ensure high availability of enterprise platforms that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact
- Run and manage software upgrades and security patches as necessitated
- Ensure testing of and compliance with the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan
- Draft and update IT infrastructure operating procedures and knowledge base
- Assist to manage 3rd party vendors for all operational aspects including service providers
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalation of IT Helpdesk issues and for end users
