Child and Youth Care Worker

**CHILD AND YOUTH CARE CENTRE CYCW POST**

Home of Hope Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) is looking for a hard working and passionate child and youth care worker to become a part of their multi disciplinary team caring for children with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder).

Full time position available: 1 position

Relief position available: 1 positions

**Scope of work**:

- Hands on caring tasks around the daily functioning of the children
- Assess and respond to individual needs of the children
- Report and manage children's behaviour in line with developmental and behaviour plan for each child
- Assist in the implementation of planned activities, recreational, developmental and therapeutic programmes
- Perform administrative duties relevant to the job
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team, working in the best interest of the child

**Requirements for applicants**:

- Child and Youth Care Qualification (min NQF Level 4)
- Registration with SACSSP (2023/2024)
- Police clearance certificate
- Passion for working with children who have disabilities
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to act as trusted advisor to the children
- Experience in the CYCC field would be advantageous
- 2 contactable references
