**Main Purpose of the role**

The role of a Deputy Plant Manager is to manage a production plant.

Their permanent target is to **support the Plant Manager in** **delivering its budget commitment** measured through **gross margin** and** inventory** levels, which means:

- ** Assist in the definition of targets** for the Plant.
- ** Secure foundations** in their perimeter**:safety** of employees; adequate **customer satisfaction**: quality and on-time deliveries; **empowered employees** and work force.
- ** Prepare the monthly financial review** together with the Plant Controller.
- ** Assist in managing the P&L** to **drive** the **appropriate actions with the plant management team; **to adapt their Plant **resources **and **costs **to **volume variation & strategic plan perspective.**:

- ** Support** **new programs** **launch preparation **by allocating resources**.**:

- ** Deploy FES and integrate the Digital transformation **in their Plant.
- ** Develop talents **and prepare future Managers.

**Essential responsibilities and duties**:
**Secure foundations**:

- Ensure **safety** of employees, through machine compliance, training of employees, respect of Mandatory Rules and prevention of risks.
- Ensure respect for the **environment **and** secure Internal Control** of the Plant.
- Promote and ensure the respect of the code of ethics and code of management.
- Ensure permanent **customer satisfaction** and intimacy: quality and on-time deliveries.
- ** Empower employees** and workforce with respect of OHP guidelines.
- Fulfill **legal responsibilities** and interface with local authorities.
- Manage **labor relations** and **social climate / employee satisfaction.**

**Contribute to the delivery of budget commitments**, in terms of Gross Margin and Inventory**
- Manage **variable margin**: direct labor efficiciency and productivity / material cost consumption / Scrap and rework reduction / Inbound & outbound freight costs.
- Manage **fixed cost**: indirect labor / manufacturing costs / machine amortization, etc.
- Manage **inventories**: appropriate information system and physical flow in the plant.
- Drive **supplier performance** improvement, and contribute to material cost reduction with Purchasing Department.

**Assist in defining targets** and develop improvement plans accordingly**
- Drive **continuous** and **breathrough improvement** through plant priorities and resources defined by the **PIP** (Plant Improvement Plan_)_ and aligned with **Strategic Plan** business targets using **FES** tools and methodologies to support execution.
- Participate in **Strategic Plan** construction to confirm **Plant mid-term vision** and future.

**Secure new program launches**
- Act within **program team** as early as **acquisition**, to create best conditions for production, and ensure competitiveness / profitability of the new programs.
- ** Support Plant readiness** for flawless program launches, through weekly **review** of launch preparation activities, **staffing** of resources to support program launch and **ramp up.**

**Deploy FES and integrate the Digital transformation**
- Drive **FES implementation** by appropriate training and coaching of their management team on **FES tools and expertise**, necessary** **to **achieve** **targeted operational** **performance.**
- Integrate the Digital Transformation: identification of **opportunities**, creation of new **competencies**, implementation of pragmatic **solutions**.

**Develop talent and prepare future managers**
- Develop **accountability**, **autonomy** and **entrepreneurship** of their resources.
- Partecipate to the **People Reviews** and contribute to the preparation of the **Succession Plan**.
- Ensure proper resources and **reservoir management** of their teams (**anticipating** staffing and **reinforcement**, monitoring coverage rate of **succession** **plans**).
- ** Ensure **individual people **performance** and **development** (continuous and regular individual feedback, coaching and training).

**Qualifications**

Minimum education level: Bachelor degree, Master degree preferred

**Experience**:

- Proven and successful experience in production management and lean manufacturing / FES production system / Toyota production system
- Proven experience in team management with leadership and coaching skills

Skills and competencies:

- Ability to build, and manage and deliver a P&L budget. Knowledge in Finance.
- Results oriented
- Must have recognized leadership and coaching skills (motivating others)
- Fluent (written and spoken) English
