**GENERAL WORKER (2nd Shift): MAITLAND**

**BACKGROUND**

Youngman Roofing, a leading supplier of high-quality roofing and insulation products, is looking for an individual to join the Group as a General Worker on the second shift. The successful individual will be required to assist Operators with various aspects of the production process as well as perform general duties within the facility as outlined below.

**KEY RESPONSIBILTIES**
- Assist in general activities within the business such as loading and off-loading of trucks
- Assist the loaders in preparing loads and the associated picking
- Assist the crane operator in the picking and preparation of coils for production
- Assist in the staging of product when necessary
- Assist in stock takes as and when required
- Assist Machine operator in preparing for production, including performing standard checks on machines, assisting with accurate setup, adjustments
- Assist operator by holding and measuring material
- Act as a relief operator as and when required, but only if you are suitably trained to do so, and under the direct supervision of an operator or a supervisor, and always adhering to machine operating procedures
- If operating a machine, do so in line with work orders and required specifications of customers to minimise loss and wastage
- Report any defects on machine to Operator and Supervisor
- Move material or works orders from the machine to the loading bay, depending on the size of order, assessing the size of the order and taking a decision on the means of carrying load to the loading bay
- General cleaning of the work area/workstation/machine you are responsible for
- Adhere to all company and health & safety regulations

**SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Advantage - Minimum 1-year relevant experience in the metal industry
- Valid Code 10 or 14 driver’s license would be advantageous
- Own transport would be advantageous due to shift hours
- Numerical skills - Able to use tape measure.
- Good technical skills
- Ability to detect machine discrepancies
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
