A renewable energy developer and investor who develops, owns, constructs and operates utility scale and small scale renewable energy projects is currently recruiting a Head of Engineering

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (HC)
- 15 Yrs. experience in HV electrical field with minimum 10 yrs. as a protection designer, 8 yrs in Solar and Renewable.
- Professional Engineering (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng.)
- Strong Technical knowledge in Solar PV, off grid batteries and distributions
- Comfort working with a small, growing company with aggressive targets.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Ability to understand commercial consideration related to projects.
- Detailed understanding of design of primary electrical plant in transmission and distribution substations
- A working knowledge of the civil and mechanical engineering aspects of substations and overhead power lines
- In depth knowledge and understanding of discipline specific technology and technical skills.

**Your KPIs will include**:

- Conduct quarterly reviews for the Engineering division Manage and maintain relationships through regular contact with Senior Management Team, Substations, Project Accountant, Fellow Project Engineers, Tender Administrators, Site Staff, Design Office, Automation, Customers and Suppliers.
- Deliver a cost-effective design, meeting local regulations and industry best practices on time and with high attention to detail to ensure mínimal site changes.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver all elements of Solar EPC or mini grid installations from geographical, structural, earthing, solar array positioning, distribution, generation, grin integration and safe system.
- Developing internal expertise and advising on technical matters on the renewable energy projects and DLO sites to ensure that the most robust and technically complaint projects to produce the lowest cost of energy over a period.
- Managing and coordinating multidiscipline engineering project activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, technically compliant, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
- Lead and manage the interface on engineering, procurement & subcontractor firming related to the development of renewable energy projects i.e. Solar PV, wind Project and Energy storage projects.
- Identify areas of improvement in Engineering practices, and pro-actively make recommendations to the business.
- Provide input into detailed design both internal and external to ensure efficient and cost-effective constructability.
- Review detailed designs submission from design contractors.
- Provide technical specification and inputs to tender scope of works development.
- Identify and keep track of all Engineering related Governance and Compliance issues.
- Monitor and enforce quality and safety in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct Technical Risk Management and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders.
