Conde Nast has an opportunity for a décor editor in Cape Town, who will be responsible for the management of the process of creating, developing and presenting content for décor features and oversee shoots across all brands, platforms and for the group, when required.

Assist and support editor in chief to develop, write, edit, produce photo shoots, and create original Décor features across all brands and platforms
Producing and styling décor editorials (castings, locations, putting together team, styling up grids and stories to present to the client)
Research and write a variety of engaging features, including house features, in keeping with the style and voice of the brand
Oversee artwork, design and photography for the features section of the magazine ensuring compliance with editorial style and tone
Manage quality control on all features by rewriting, editing, proofreading copy to ensure it meets editorial standards prior to going to press
Compile shopping pages as directed by group visual director and provide guidance on the sourcing of accessories for décor and house shoots
Follow industry publications and meet interior designers, architectures and other industry insiders to understand new industry trends
Maintain excellent client relations and attract new décor clients to the brand
Work on commercial Décor and editorial concept development; execution; etc.
Style and produce shoots for advertorials, as and when required.
Represent the brand’s Décor interests internally and externally throughout the industry and at relevant events conferences, etc.
Implementing the editorial vision of the editor in chief and guiding the direction of all House & Garden content across print and digital platforms.
Representing House & Garden within the industry and meetings and events.
Contributing to the social, digital and video strategy for the magazine, whether ideating on projects, helping to propose or secure talent.
Regularly meeting with brands and PRs and feeding back to the team to build relationships, secure editorial exclusives and ensure that House & Garden remains at the forefront of the design conversation.
Staying abreast of any and all industry developments and news to ensure that our coverage of design across print and digital is both informed and unique.

**Minimum requirements**:
Matric
Interior décor/architectural related diploma or degree

**Advantageous**:
Journalism and creative qualification.
Online content generation experience
Required competencies

**Minimum**:
Over three years décor features writing experience
Excellent visual portfolio
Creative flair
Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
Solid understanding of trends

**Advantageous**:
Visual merchandising experience
Home décor experience
Photography and videography knowledge
