**Job Advert Summary**:
With a strong, solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, the Procurement Manager will play a key role in securing quality suppliers of materials and components and services covering price, delivery and quality targets.

**Specific Operational Requirements**
- May be required to work overtime to meet the business needs.
- Must be prepared to work shifts/weekends/public holidays when needed.

**Specific SHE Requirements**
- Pre-employment, routine, and exit medicals are compulsory due to the nature of the business.
- Attendance to SHE-related training is mandatory.
- Adherence to SHE Instructions (Waste Segregation, Water and Energy Saving Initiatives)
- Compliance with SHE Site Rules is compulsory.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Degree in Purchasing Management with a certification endorsement by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
- 3-5 years purchasing/procuring experience at a senior level.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Procurement Management**
- Develop sourcing and supply strategy;
- Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures;
- Develop and maintain Procurement BBBEE strategies and policies;
- Assume responsibility for the performance and deliverables of the procurement function;
- Managing and developing systems and tools in collaboration with IT Department to improve procurement function productivity;
- Coordinate the procurement of goods and services for the company both nationally and internationally;
- Compile annual raw material budget for the company;
- Compile annual overhead budget for department;
- Ensure efficient maintenance of purchasing records and facilitating the appropriate updating process;
- Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans and progress reports as per business requirements;
- Perform Risk assessments for procurement/ future supply and develop options for their resolution;
**Vendor management**
- Develop and manage supplier relationships for strategic and key suppliers
- Maintain an approved vendor database and evaluate on a continuous basis
- Evaluate, monitor suppliers key performance indicators
- Source and validate new suppliers
- Establish measures to monitor and ensure continuous improvement of vendor performance
- Negotiate with suppliers on price, delivery, quality and terms of payment

**Cost control**
- Initiate cost saving programs
- Drive cost optimisation and service delivery
- Provide information on purchase statistics
- Monitoring supplier price adjustments and ensuring they are within parameters detailed in the contracts
- Tendering and competitive bidding

**Contract Management**
- Negotiate contracts with strategic suppliers
- Lead contract negotiations regarding service level agreements
- On-going contract management and administration in relation to contracted terms
- Managing warranties and guarantees

**Supervision and control**
- Supervise the buyers and provide feedback on performance
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, orders and standard price adjustments.

**Continuing professional education**
- Keeps abreast of trends, technical developments and legislation in the procurement function

**Other**
- Undertake related assignments and ad hoc feasibility studies, projects as requested.
