1. POSITION REQUIRED: TRAINING and Development MANAGER
- functioning Training and Development Department that shall be headed by suitably qualified and well experienced Training Manager.

2. Responsibilities

The training manager shall be charged with the following responsibilities:
- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with training coordinators.
- Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations.
- Deploy a wide variety of training methods.
- Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions.
- Monitor and evaluate the training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them.
- Provide opportunities for ongoing development.
- Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary.
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices.

3. Requirements and skills
- A Bsc Agriculture Qualification to Master’s level
- Proven work experience as a Training Manager
- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs.
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Strong writing and record-keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
- Good computer and database skills

4. DELIVERABLES

The Training Manager’s Service Level Agreement (SLA) shall focus on the following areas:
- 4.1 Training material development
- Provide learners with appropriate learning materials (print and distribute learning materials) for the above training areas.

4.2 Delivery of training
- Conduct pre
- and post-training assessments for all training coordinators and training facilitators.
- Deliver both accredited and non-accredited training on multiple sites and virtually concurrently.

4.3 Training efficacy and evidence
- Submit registers for all trainings.
- Administer post-training evaluation and analysis must be part of the final report.
- Prepare and submit training reports to BZ following the end of each training conducted.
- Provide a report that demonstrates the efficacy and impact of the training by attributing and linking the training results to training.

5. Terms of Reference

The Training Manager’s Terms of Reference shall focus on the following KPIs.

5.1 Experiences
- Experience in designing and writing training modules and workbooks.
- Experience in facilitating training for farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
- Experience in optimizing organizational growth and performance of civil society organizations.
- Experience and understanding government administered training programmes and SAQA standards.
- Experience and knowledge working with the Department of Agriculture and other relevant

Government Departments including Labour.
- Registration with a relevant SETA that will issue a Statement of Results (SOR) is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in delivering similar training programmes will be preferable.

6. Salary (Cost to Company): R520,000.00 per annum
