**Kumba Iron Ore**

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel, widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities comprise the full value-chain - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

**Job Description**:

- This role will enable and drive compliance with financial controls and regulation within Kumba, duties will include the following:

- Work with Kumba Leads, Anglo American’s global compliance function and control owners in implementing financial reporting control standards and requirements
- Promote awareness of changes in requirements, consider specific impacts and lease with impacted stakeholders
- Deliver targeted training to stakeholders on financial reporting control standards
- Using your knowledge of financial controls proactively identify the impacts of changes in business processes to financial compliance, working with Kumba and global stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement and optimization
- Support control operators to manage and maintain the Risk And Controls Matrix (RACM), enabling robust change management
- Plan and deliver risk-based control reviews, in consultation with management and Anglo American’s global risk and compliance function
- Evaluate and respond to control testing results, working with relevant stakeholders to create remediation plans, compensating controls and mitigating controls as needed
- Track remediation actions to ensure effective and timely responses to control review outcomes
- Plan and deliver periodic attestation over key controls, in consultation with management and Anglo American’s global risk and compliance function
- Manage local risk relating to Fraud and Segregation of Duties (working in consultation with the global IT function)
- Support relationship with internal, external audit teams including supporting management responses, and align with key internal stakeholder and third-party service providers
- Conduct ad-hoc projects and support the Manager Financial reporting as needed
- Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with all relevant senior management and their teams
- Ensure compliance with the Anglo-American Values in all work undertaken
- Demonstrate behaviour in line with safety, health and environmental (SHE) standards and with the Group’s values. This includes leading and adhering to the SHE expectations for your team, ensuring your behaviour meets the required standards and participating in relevant safety audits.

**This role is in the Finance Department at a Band 6/11 **reporting to the Manager - Finance Reporting**

**Qualifications**:

- You will need to have the following:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing / Finance / Risk
- Professional designation (CPA or CA) required
- 5+ years of experience in the relevant field
- Prior management role within in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Environment within a SOX registrant; or as Audit or Advisory professional to SOX registrants
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
