- Overhead Crane Technician- Job Overview: As an Overhead Crane Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of overhead cranes and hoisting systems. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems will ensure the safe and efficient operation of these critical lifting devices. This role requires a strong understanding of crane technology, electrical systems, and adherence to safety protocols.- Key Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and test overhead cranes and hoisting systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address Perform repairs and troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of overhead cranes.- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop and implement improvement initiatives.- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment documentation.- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to overhead crane maintenance and repair.- Maintenance and repair of handheld tools and equipment. Grinders, chippers etc.- Maintenance and repair of machinery on shop floor. Rollers, benders, drills etc.- Maintenance and repair of welding machines.- Inspection, maintenance and repair of spray-painting equipment and air compressors- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.- Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of overhead crane installation, maintenance, and repair.- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to overhead crane operations.- Familiarity with electrical control systems, PLCs, and motor controls.- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.-
**Inherent Requirements**
