Aquaponics Farm Manager

An organic, aquaponics farm is seeking an experienced Farm Manager with proven experience in an aquaponics farm environment.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Minimum two years of management or business experience on a farm.
- Proficiency in farm infrastructure development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and system improvement experience.
- Precision-oriented with expertise in animal care, feeding protocols, and logistics.
- Diverse skill set including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, welding, and building planning.
- Experience in farm upbringing or prolonged work on a farm.
- Ability to support administrative tasks, maintain records, and collaborate with various teams.

**Duties**:

- Daily Operations Management: Overseeing tasks like fish feeding, water quality monitoring, and equipment maintenance.
- Staff Supervision: Hiring, training, and managing farm hands, technicians, and admin staff in line with company policies.
- Budgeting and Finance: Creating and overseeing the farm's budget, managing expenses, and
- collaborating with the financial team.
- Marketing and Sales: Leading marketing efforts, coordinating with sales staff, creating campaigns, and fostering customer relationships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to environmental and animal welfare regulations.
- Research and Development: Collaborating on innovative techniques to enhance farm efficiency and sustainability.
- Building Planning: Overseeing building projects, including metal work, engineering, and wet work, and ensuring quality control.
- Supervise contractors quality of work if required. Hands-on experience of wetwork such as building sumps, retaining walls and the like will need to be undertaken by the manager. Building of tunnels, although being outsourced on the whole, will need to be tweaked and improved on by the manager and so he will be required to have metal work experience.

**Salary**: R30 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
