**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensure compliance with safety regulatory requirements
- Ensure Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and process safety management efforts are focused to meet both the company’s requirements and legal standards.
- Participate in safety audits and ensure supervisors and employees take proper and timely corrective action.
- Ensure crisis management plan is up to date and that the management team is prepared to respond to emergencies
- Implement McCain’s “Key Element” process to safety management, which includes behavioral observation & coaching, supervisor training, and employee involvement.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in an agricultural environment
- Valid Code B drivers license
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to implement and maintain systems relating to Safety
- Must be flexible (assist with ad hoc activities onsite during quiet times)
- He or She must be able to execute jobs independent and have good communication skills (in English) towards the farm team and farm visitors.
- The job requires working overtime, and during weekends/public holidays when it required.
- Computer literate (MS Office)
