We have a picture-perfect, hybrid working opportunity for a Mid-weight Brand Manager at the high-end interior design store of a leading décor and lifestyle brand based in Cape Town. We’re looking for a multi-functional marketer who is an efficient self-starter whose overall role will be to cultivate brand identity, grow brand awareness and assist with developing audience growth using traditional Marketing, PR methods and digital channels. The role forms part of the Marketing team and reports to the Creative Director and work closely with the Head of Marketing.

Core functions include assisting with development and implementation of the annual Brand strategy, managing and developing marketing collateral in association with the design/graphics team. You will also be responsible for reporting on all brand activity and relationship building with media to secure coverage. As such you’ll assist with development and management of media content. The role also encompasses brand collateral and direct marketing through regular newsletter development send-outs.

**Responsibilities**:
Brand Strategies
- Develop Brand Strategies
- Present monthly/weekly reports
- Update Action Lists (weekly meeting agendas)
- Compile and monitor annual media budget
- Manage graphic design briefs and production
- Manage & Maintain Website
- Develop and maintain Media Schedules for press and social media
- Liaise with Marketing Manager and assist with the annual Marketing Strategy
- Update vendors/resellers with brand content and cultivate shared PR opportunities.

Brand Collateral
- Upload/coordinate upload of new website content
- Maintain updated Company product spec sheets
- Develop and manage brochures with the graphic design department
- Monitor and order stock (notepads, USB, business cards etc.)
- Liaise with the Showroom Manager to ensure the space is effective in marketing the brand and products
- Content and Copywriting for all print and digital channels
- Graphic design understanding.

Media Publicity
- Photoshoots: Project management, photographer briefing and liaison
- Media Relations: Develop an in-depth knowledge of the media landscape, both nationally and internationally, understand how to identify, connect and engage with media
- Media Lists: Keep current and up to date
- Develop PR material such as Press Pack/Releases: Coordinate design timelines with the graphic design department
- Plan and execute media engagement opportunities or tactics
- Secure Press Coverage
- Monitor and track media coverage.

Public Forums
- Define an annual strategy for awards, events, and networking opportunities
- Negotiate speaker and networking opportunities, event manage where necessary
- Prepare and submit award entries.

Direct Marketing
- Newsletters: Draft copy, drive design and visual language with Creative Director, distribution (MailChimp)
- Share analytics in weekly and monthly reports
- Manage MailChimp Database
- Liaise with Sales team to plan and execute relevant mailers and customer relation management tactics.

Internal Communication
- Quarterly Magazine: compile brand and media highlights, assist with the Director’s letter.

Marketing
- Execute Strategic objectives as per marketing plan
- Assist with research and development where required
- Develop marketing packages to assist the Business / Vendor Relationship Manager as per their brief
- Create content and marketing tools for BDM to share with vendors.

Public Relations
- Connect and coordinate with international sales outlets, showrooms, and vendors.

**Requirements**:

- Qualification in Marketing, Media, PR, Journalism, or similar relevant qualification
- At least 3 years of experience in Marketing, Publicity, and Social Media
- Proven experience in strategy - planning and execution
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with paid online and print advertising
- Experience with analytics and reporting
- Experience with online content management systems
- Excellent writing skills - including copy for collateral and media releases
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Organised
- Eye for graphic detail
- Resourceful and reliable
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to meet deadlines, and follow jobs through to completion
- Highly motivated, resourceful and the ability to take initiative and solve problems
- Proactive and engaged

- Own transport
- Knowledge of or prior experience in the design/furniture industry
- Knowledge of or prior experience in the retail industry

- Drive to help grow the company internationally
- Additional Languages (other than English and Afrikaans)
- Passionate about getting to know the international media in the interior design and furniture space
