**Role purpose**:
Responsible for the providing of technical expertise for all transmission networks across Vodacom South Africa regions including, transmission planning, optimization and performance management. Provide expert-level expertise within the transmission network domain specifically focusing on network design, network upgrades and support of the implementation of industry best practices across the regions.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
Responsible for compiling the Capex Budget for Transmission.
Responsible for compiling the OPEX Budget for Access Transmission.
Responsible for the automation of various Access Transmission Reports.
Monthly OPEX reporting and analysis.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced growing company.
Network planning and design experience on fibre, microwave and leased line solutions.
Negotiation and leadership skills a must and be able to engage with various stakeholders internal and external.
Perform network audits.
Responsible for planning and designing of backhaul infrastructure and the integration of services with NMS and north bound interfaces.
Provide opinion and technical expertise on optimizing the microwave, fibre and leased line network.
Understanding of following technologies: RAN 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G.

Minimum 3-year Degree/Diploma/degree in electrical engineering or computer sciences.
Preferable 10 years in transmission network planning, optimization, and performance management/improvement.
Minimum 5 years of exposure to GSM, UMTS, and LTE mobile telecommunication technologies.
5 years of experience in transmission for mobile radio networks and associated technical investigations, research, and fault finding.
Minimum 10 years in the telecommunications industry.
Experience of using network planning tools.
Strong understanding of telecommunication networks and standards.
