**TRAINING OPPORTUNITY**:
Title: Fitter Apprenticeship
Department: Maintenance
Duration: Apprenticeship
Location: Hammarsdale, Outer West Durban
Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
following duties throughout the Apprentice period:
Good understanding of factory utility layouts (electrical and water reticulation,
compressed air systems, and process water plant)
Knowledge of condition monitoring (electrical and water reticulation, compressed air
systems and process water plant)
Knowledge of OSHACT
Knowledge of shut down maintenance
Working knowledge of robotics
Bearings and lubrication
Welding, cutting and grinding experience
Pneumatics, pumps, transmission systems and general mechanics Duties:
Identify, verify and analyse reasons for downtime through root cause analysis and
implementation of corrective actions to repair the fault in order to ensure timeous
resumption of production
Inspections on running machinery and equipment
Adherence to the maintenance schedule
Adherence to all safety rules and regulations by all personnel and contractors on site to
ensure a safe working environment
The training opportunity will include the following:
All trade related training
On the job training
Practical training and theoretical training
Minimum Requirements
Matric certificate
N2 or N3 Mechanical Engineering
