The Head Office of a large Private Hospital Group situated in Sandton, JHB, is seeking a Senior Clinical Internal Auditor, who will be accountable for planning and managing the execution of large and complex field audit engagements in the clinical audit space. The incumbent will assist the Internal Audit Manager in directing a comprehensive audit program (to fulfil the ratified clinical audit plan). The incumbent will provide a professional, independent, and objective assurance and consulting service to the business that adds value to and improves the organisation's systems, operations, and risk-based controls.

The Senior Clinical Auditor will be required to work collaboratively, with latitude for initiative and independent judgement and will also be required to liaise with Management through various professional forums to provide input with regard to emerging risks and to proactively identify changes to
the Groups evolving environment.

**Key Work Output and Accountabilities**:
**Internal Audits and Key Projects **Provide a professional, disciplined, industry referenced and forward-thinking approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of controls, compliance, governance processes and management of risk.
Assist the Internal Audit Manager with the short/medium term planning, co-ordination, management, evaluation, and control of large
- scale Clinical and Operational Audits for the Group.
Plan and prepare the scope for the various clinical audits, including the audit procedures to be performed.
Co-ordinate meetings with relevant Management and issue scope documentation.
Manage and execute field audits and ensuring that the deadlines and budgets are met.
Compile adequate working papers, executing audit tests, conducting interviews, evidence gathering and liaising regularly with business to provide information on the progress of the work.
Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing, and analysing evidence and documenting business processes and procedures.
Provide input to the Audit Plan and suggesting changes to the Audit plan based on emerging risks and changes as per the agile auditing methodology.

**Audit Reporting**
Prepare and review audit reports and memorandums for sign off by the Internal Audit Manager.

**Budget Control**
Monitor the Audit Budget

**Risk Management**
Highlight risk areas and provide assurance to the business that clinical and operational internal controls and processes are effective and operating as intended to safeguard all Group business operations.

**Best Practice Benchmarking**
Keep up to date with legislative, technological, and business changes to adjust audit methods so that they are always efficient and appropriate.

**Stakeholder Relations**
Liaise with all levels of management.
Liaise closely with the Group Risk and Forensic departments to ensure that risks / issues identified by them are appropriately raised in the audit environment for consideration of control adequacy and effectiveness.
Ensure that the objectivity and independence of the department and the consequent credibility are maintained at all times.
Develop and maintain productive business, employee and management relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.

**Skills Profile**

**Education**
Relevant Nursing Qualification - Diploma in General Nursing (NQF level 6)
B Cur Nursing Degree (NQF level 7) is highly advantageous

**Work Experience**
Minimum 4 years experience conducting on-site audit engagements

**Knowledge**
A basic practical knowledge of auditing tools and methodologies
Sound practical working knowledge of integrated risk-based auditing practices, methodologies, regulations, and related technology aids
A conceptual and integrated understanding of clinical and operational risk, process risk and compliance
Thorough working knowledge of how to keep accurate and complete working papers and audit evidence
A sound practical understanding of the end-to-end functional work structures, practices and systems governing the clinical and operational business environment
