**Job Specification**:

- Read drawings and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Fabricate, repair and assemble metal structures for machines.
- To produce metal products according to customer or KMC specification.
- Determining the appropriate welding method based on the job requirements.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Take instructions from Team leaders and Supervisor.
- A welder must set up, operate and maintain welding equipment.
- Understand and implement company’s safety standard, must adhere to zero harm.
- Make sure a job is done within the time given.
- Communicate any hazards observed.
- Check weekly that the acetylene gas is not leaking from gas bottle.
- To comply with all OHSA85 OF 1993

**Minimum Skills Required**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Relevant Trade Certificate.
- Overhead crane training.
- 6 S and Introduction to gas safe.

**Behavioural Competencies Required**:

- 3 years’experience using multiple welding machines including arc weld, TIG (tungsten inert gas) and MIG (metal inertgas).
- Must be able to read drawings to determine operations, required material and time frames for projects.
- Communication skills to work with team members.
