Field Service Technician

The **Field Service Technician** is responsible for responding to customer callouts, providing technical service and maintenance support at customer locations. The successful incumbent will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment out in the field and providing technical training when necessary.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
- Managing all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
- Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.

- Preventative maintenance should be conducted in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
- Ensure that the job cards are correctly filled in and sign off.
- Responsible for Stock.
- Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment, determine possible causes for malfunctions, and perform repairs suggested by diagnostics and assessment. prior to and following preventative maintenance and repairs, test and document the proper operating parameter of the equipment.
- Document all work performed daily using company provided hardware and software. Development rapport with customers through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
- Provide high level of customer service, responding to customers’ needs and working to satisfy customer expectations.
- Be able work overtime on short notice.
- Serve as an ambassador for the company.
- Must have the ability to work and solve problems independently, always promote and practice proper safety procedures and correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Contribute to positive company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
- Ability to manage time and deadline.
- Computer proficiency as required for communications, research, work orders and programming various controllers.
- Excellent customers service and communication skills (oral and written)

**Essential Requirements**:

- Matric (Grade 12)
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent diploma required with electrical and/ or mechanical training.
- Technical degree or certification.
- Electrical Trade Test
- 3-5 years’ experience in similar role
- Proven Field Service experience
- Strong electrical skills with demonstrated expertise in maintenance, service and repair
- Able to read electrical diagram/drawings.
- Fault finding,
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
- English literacy
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
- Available to work after
- hours weekends and public holidays.
- No criminal record
