**Location**: Buffalo City Metropolitan District (Eastern Cape Province)

**Duration of Contracts**: fixed term ending 30 September 2023

**Professional Nurse : Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis x 1 - (Ref: 467)**

**Main purpose of the job**

The incumbent will support the implementation of a comprehensive HIV prevention and SRHR programme by identifying at-risk, HIV-negative adolescent girls and young women and initiating these clients onto Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). In addition, the incumbent will support case-finding activities for AGYW and initiate all newly diagnosed HIV-positive clients onto ART; and supporting the continued management thereof of both ART and PrEP clients.

**Key performance areas**
- Day to day service delivery at health facilities
- Clinical assessments, management and monitoring of HIV negative adolescent girls and young women on PrEP
- Clinical assessments, management and monitoring of HIV-positive adolescent girls and young women on ART
- Conducting behavioral risk screening on HIV negative adolescent girls and young women, initiate eligible clients onto PrEP and providing risk reduction counselling where needed
- Provide technical assistance and onsite mentoring to facility staff to integrate HIV prevention and SRHR services into the Care and Treatment programme
- Support the integration of post-violence services into HIV prevention, SRH and AYFS model of care
- Conduct needs assessments and support the development, implementation, and monitoring quality improvement plans
- Completing patient records in line with guidelines
- Support the CCMDD programme including identifying patients for decanting, adherence support groups and seeing follow up patients
- Submit progress reports on daily and weekly basis
- Manage equipment & supplies conducting assessments of requirements, managing stock & equipment and coordinating the maintenance of equipment
- Support data analysis and verification processes to ensure that all reports submitted to donors are accurate and efficient
- Any adhoc activities in line with the nature of the job

**Required minimum education and training**
- Diploma in General Nursing with specialization
- NIMART certificate of competence with a completed logbook

**Professional Body registration**
- Proof of current registration with SANC

**Minimum work experience**
- 2 years’ relevant experience in public health setting

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities**
- Knowledge on PrEP, UTT, ART and Sexual and Reproductive Health - Completion of NDoH online PrEP course for clinicians would be advantageous
- Experience in working with adolescent and youth in a clinical environment
- Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach to work
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to problem solve
- Ability to work under pressure and in a diverse environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Resilient and self-motivated with high regard for excellence, work ethic, values and integrity
- Proficiency in English and IsiXhosa/IsiZulu
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Available to commence work immediately
